Privacy, in plain words.

Daemon is built so that we never need your data. The app runs on your Mac and your work stays there. This page explains exactly what that means, for the app and for this website.

The app

Your conversations, memory, and files live on your Mac. Daemon stores your sessions, your agents' memory, and your settings locally on your machine. We do not receive them, and we cannot read them.

No telemetry and no analytics. The app does not track how you use it and does not send usage data to us.

Talking to AI providers happens with your own accounts. When you send a message to a model, the request travels directly from your Mac to the provider you chose (for example OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or xAI), using your own subscription or API key. That exchange is governed by your agreement with that provider. Daemon never sits in the middle and never stores your prompts on our servers.

Optional voice features. If you enable spoken replies, the text of the reply is sent to the speech provider you configured in order to generate audio. Voice input is transcribed locally on your Mac.

Software updates. The app periodically checks our update server to see if a new version exists. Like any web request, this exposes your IP address and app version to standard, short-lived server logs. No account, no identifier, and no content is attached to it.

This website

No cookies, no trackers, no analytics. daemonai.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts.

The beta application is an email you send us. Applying to the Founding 500 opens a message in your own mail app addressed to us, containing what you typed: your name, email, X handle if you gave one, and your answers. We receive it only when you choose to send it. We use it to review your application and reply, and for nothing else. We never sell it or share it.

Your rights

Everything the app knows about you is already in your hands, on your Mac. For anything you have sent us by email, you can ask at any time to see it, correct it, or have it deleted. Write to support@daemonai.app and we will act on it promptly.

Daemon is made by Vickson Enterprises Ltd, a Canadian company, and we handle personal information in accordance with PIPEDA. If you are in a region with additional privacy rights, such as the GDPR or CCPA, we honor those requests too.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date at the top. We will not weaken the core promise: your work stays on your Mac.
